Position Title
Adoption Program Assistant

Location
Salt Lake City, UT

If you have a heart for children and a vision that ensures a safe, loving and permanent home for each of them, this job is for you! The professional hired for this position will execute intensive, child-focused recruitment activities targeted exclusively on finding forever families for waiting children in the Utah foster care system. This position is responsible for working closely with public and private external partners, as well as internal staff.

Full time with benefits, start date July 2014.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the adoption field preferred;
  • BA, BSW or other human services degree/experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and cultivate relationships;
  • Expertise in providing customer service;
  • Computer literacy and efficiency required, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Position Title
Family Resource Coordinator

The Adoption Exchange announces the opportunity for a part-time contract position: Step Up! Diligent Recruitment Project Family Resource Coordinator for San Miguel County, New Mexico, reporting to our Albuquerque Office.

Responsibilities of this position include working with the foster parent community to recruit and retain foster and adoptive parents.

Duties include recruiting and supporting prospective foster and adoptive parents and families as they work towards licensure, developing retention plans, conducting monthly meetings, and providing follow-up. Duties also include working with community groups and organizations to promote the program.

Requirements:
  • Must have experience in foster care and/or adoption.
  • Familiarity with the diversity of cultures of New Mexico is essential to this position.
  • Ability to utilize e-mail, computers and software for writing and data collection.
  • Ability to develop training and plans for families.
  • Ability to work with community leaders/stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated documentation, follow-up and customer service skills.
Assets:
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of existing community resources for families.
  • Knowledge regarding child development.
  • Past experience recruiting diverse foster and/or adoptive families.

The Adoption Exchange announces the opportunity for a part-time Adoption Recruiter for the Wendy's Wonderful Kids (WWK) Program in Washoe County, Nevada.

If you have a heart for children and a vision that ensures a safe, loving and permanent home for each of them, this job is for you! The professional hired for this position will execute intensive, child-focused recruitment programs targeted exclusively on finding forever families for waiting children in the Nevada foster care system. This person is responsible for serving Washoe County; extensive travel throughout the state of Nevada is required. Providing matching support and pre- and post-adoption support and community outreach are also important aspects of this job.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the adoption field required, experience working with adolescents preferred;
  • BA, BSW or other human services degree/experience (MSW preferred);
  • ability and willingness to travel independently throughout northern Nevada;
  • demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and cultivate relationships;
  • expertise in providing customer service/family support;
  • computer literacy and efficiency required (MS Office), as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
