Many children are in the custody of the Nevada foster care system and are eligible and waiting for a permanent home.

The children who wait are the survivors of abuse and neglect. They are school-aged children, brothers and sisters, children of color and those with disabilities. These children live in a series of foster and group homes. There they wait. They hope for the stability and love of an adoptive family.

In Nevada, child welfare services (including the adoption of children in foster care) are provided by three separate entities depending on the location of residence:

Adoption Parties

Networking parties for families interested in adopting, children waiting in foster care and their caseworkers, and prospective adoptive families are sponsored several times a year. The parties offer a unique opportunity for families, children and caseworkers to connect while in a safe, relaxed, fun atmosphere.  Contact Adoption Parties for more information or questions.

Profile Parties

Adult members of currently licensed foster/adoptive families and potential foster/adoptive families (who have submitted foster care/adoption applications and complete background checks) are eligible to attend this event. Featured children's profiles will be available and attendees will have the opportunity to meet personally with The Adoption Exchange staff and the recruiters, caseworkers and other members of the Clark County Department of Family Services to learn about specific waiting children. Contact Profile Parties for more information or questions.
